Frequently asked questions
Yes. E2 built the Full IELTS Mock Test in partnership with IDP IELTS, and it's the same test featured on IDP's Australian website. You buy it here because E2 runs the test platform, the AI grading tools and the live classes that come with it.
Free practice tests give you, at most, a sample answer for Writing and Speaking. Judging the gap between your work and that sample is guesswork for most students. The mock gives you AI feedback on your own responses, measured against the IELTS band descriptors. When you grade your Writing and Speaking, you're working from evidence instead of instinct. You also get estimated band scores for all four skills plus an overall band, followed by study content and live classes aimed at your weakest area.
Choose the version you've booked or plan to book. Listening and Speaking are the same in both versions, but Reading and Writing differ, so the wrong version will give you a misleading score. Universities and most professional registration bodies ask for Academic. Most Australian visa pathways accept either. If you're unsure, check with the organisation receiving your score before you buy.
Listening and Reading are marked automatically. You grade Writing and Speaking yourself, with AI assistance. The AI reviews your responses against the criteria IELTS examiners use, and you then assign your band for each criterion.
Writing: Task Achievement (Task 1) or Task Response (Task 2), Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range and Accuracy.
Speaking: Fluency and Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range and Accuracy, Pronunciation.
Grading your own work against these criteria shows you what examiners reward. That understanding is worth as much as the score.
Your Listening and Reading scores are marked objectively, so they're a reliable guide. Your Writing and Speaking bands can only be as accurate as your own grading. Students tend to be generous with themselves, so grade the way an examiner would, not the way you hope. If you're torn between two bands, pick the lower one. Your official band will come from a certified IELTS examiner on test day.
Aim for four to six weeks before your test date. That leaves time to work on your weakest skill, use the live classes, and move your test date if the gap is bigger than expected. Your package is valid for 15 days, so buy it when you're ready to sit the mock. If your test is less than two weeks away, take the mock in the first day or two, then spend the rest of your time on the skill that scored lowest.
You'll need a laptop or desktop computer, a stable internet connection, headphones for Listening and a microphone for Speaking. Block out at least three uninterrupted hours. The test follows real IELTS timing and must be completed in one sitting, and you'll also need time to grade your Writing and Speaking.
Select Academic or General Training, click Start Now, and enter IELTSmock10 in the discount code field at checkout. The code takes 10% off the mock test. Only one code can be used per order, and it can't be combined with other E2 offers.
E2's IELTS teachers run the classes online. Every teacher is university-trained in English or linguistics and TESOL-certified. You won't get to all 25 classes in 15 days, and you shouldn't try. Your score report shows your weakest skill, so book the classes for that skill first.
That's exactly why you take a mock before test day. Many universities and visas set a minimum score for each skill, not just an overall band, so one weak skill can sink your application on its own. Start with the skill that's furthest from your target. If you're a full band short on any skill and your test is less than four weeks away, consider moving your date. IDP explains your options here: IDP's reschedule and cancellation options. You can also Book a free call with an E2 advisor to plan your study.
Your package includes one full mock test and 15 days of access. To keep studying after that, you can upgrade to a full E2 IELTS course.
