To get that high IELTS score, you need to experience the timing, the “distractors,” and the fatigue of a full test before the actual day.

Why take a Full IELTS Mock Test in 2026

IELTS is designed to test your English proficiency under pressure. Many students have excellent English but fail because they run out of time or lose focus during the exam. For a helpful simulation of the exam conditions, take some time to watch our comprehensive Full IELTS Mock Test video here:

What is included in the E2 Full IELTS Mock Test

Our new mock test covers all four sections of the exam, for both the Academic and General versions updated to 2026 standards:

    • Listening: 40 questions with authentic accents and speed.
    • Reading: 3 passages of text the follow up questions.
    • Writing: Task 1 and Task 2 as in the real test.
    • Speaking: Interactive format. You get on a videocall with an examiner.

Please note that this is a timed like the real test, the system will lock you out if your timer runs out before submitting.

A good place to start thinking about your prep is understanding how the mock test mirrors the official Test Report Form (TRF).

Full IELTS Mock Test Tip 1: The “15-20-25” Reading Rule

It is important to manage your time strictly during the Reading section. Many students fail because they spend 20 minutes on the easy first passage and run out of time for the difficult third passage. In our mock test, we demonstrate the 15-20-25 Rule:

    • Passage 1: Finish in 15 minutes.
    • Passage 2: Finish in 20 minutes.
    • Passage 3: Finish in 25 minutes. This strategy banks time for the hardest questions. You can practice this live in our Reading Section video.

Full IELTS Mock Test Tip 2: Beware of “Distractors” in Listening

Knowing your vocabulary is just a first step. In the IELTS Listening test, speakers often correct themselves. For example, they might say, “The train leaves at 4:30… oh wait, no, it’s 4:15.” If you write 4:30, you lose the mark. In our Listening Mock Test, we include these specific 2026-style distractors to train your hearing to wait for the final confirmation.

Full IELTS Mock Test Tip 3: Don’t Memorise Speaking Answers

In the Speaking section, examiners are trained to spot “scripted” answers. If you sound robotic, your score will drop. Our mock test provides a Band 6.5 – 7.5 sample and then shows you how to upgrade it to a Band 8.5 – 9 by adding natural idioms and intonation, rather than memorised phrases.

    • Part 1: Introduction and Interview (Easier)
    • Part 2: Long Turn (Challenging)
    • Part 3: Discussion (Challenging)

Full IELTS Mock Test Tip 4: Review Your Performance with an Expert

There is no secret formula to getting a good IELTS score, but feedback is essential. After taking our mock test, you need to know why you got an answer wrong. Here is a three-step plan to use after the video:

    1. Calculate Your Score: Use the score guides provided at the end of our Listening and Reading videos.
    2. Identify Weaknesses: Did you fail on “True/False/Not Given” questions? Or did you miss the “Map Labeling” in Listening?
    3. Get Expert Help: If you are struggling with Speaking and Writing, you can’t mark yourself. Sign up to E2 Test Prep and use our Writing Mock Test or 1-on-1 Tutorials to get a trained examiner to review your work.
